Sheriff Darren Chambers has completed the 104th Session of the National Sheriffs’ Institute.

Sheriff Chambers oversees the day to day operations of all the divisions within the Sheriff’s Office.

Living most of his life in Sumner County, Sheriff Chambers began his career with the Mulvane Police Department in 1983. After attending the Kansas Law Enforcement Academy he made the transition to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office in 1985.

He then went to the Wichita Police Department in 1990, where he remained till he was appointed by Governor Brownback in August of 2011, to Sheriff of Sumner County Kansas.

Sheriff Chambers ran for re-election in the fall of 2012 and was elected by the citizens of Sumner County for another four year term starting January of 2013.
